'You'll become desensitised'
Temporary reduced sensitivity after prolonged intense stimulation is normal and resolves. There's no good evidence for permanent desensitisation from ordinary use.
'Toys mean something is wrong with your relationship'
Products are an addition, not a verdict. Plenty of people with entirely satisfying sex lives use them because variety is enjoyable.
'Expensive always means better'
Price correlates with motor quality and materials up to a point, then mostly with brand. Read the material spec and the motor description rather than the price tag.
